Father's Day

Father's Day was interesting. First Jake went to church by himself at 8 am because I was feeling kinda sick and the kids were coughing so I figured it was best for them not to go. I felt so bad that he was going to church alone on Father's Day. Then after sacrament meeting, Jake calls me and says he's decided to come home early because he wants to spend time with us and is lonely at church by himself. Then he tells me that his motorcycle broke down, not at the church but on the way home. Yes he drove his motorcycle in a suit, I bet he got a lot of stares pulling apart his motorcycle in the parking lot. LOL So the kids and I went to rescue him. Then we had to drive him back to his motorcycle so he could push it back home. Again I felt so bad for him having to do this in the heat, on Sunday and on Father's Day. Poor guy! But he was a real trooper and the rest of the day was relaxing. He opened his Father's Day cards and gift, we ate grilled hamburgers, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake. But at 5:30 I had to go to work and waste my time there for 3 1/2 hours. I still felt a little sick but I thought I should still go. I work every other Sunday in the evening, I don't want to but it helps us not to pay so much in babysitting during the week. Anyways...
The girls and I made the frame and the cards and I gave him a card with Napolean Dynamite on the front where you opened it and it talks. Well when Jake opened it I realized that it said Happy Birthday, not Happy Father's Day! I felt so stupid but he really liked the card and actually his birthday is this Friday so now I don't have to buy him a birthday card. LOL

I hope you are feeling better Lisa! Life is filled with Surprises. Don't feel bad, I gave Amy a wedding shower card for her baby shower :( It was very embarrassing in a crowd of 20 plus people. Oh well, get a good laugh out of it!
